LUKEWARM WARNING

Revelations 3:16   But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! Have you ever swam in a lukewarm pool during the summer? It’s not refreshing at all and just makes you feel kind of yuck. Have you ever stepped into a nice, hot bath to only realize the water was only lukewarm? It’s not relaxing and it’s very disappointing. Have you ever had a friend that you’ve done a lot for and helped them out in tough situation and when it comes time for them to have your back they stay neutral? Its discouraging and disheartening. Imagine how Jesus feels when we are lukewarm with our faith. But what is being lukewarm you may be asking? Mainly it is not taking a stand or making an effort to proclaim your faith in Jesus. Here are a few ways you can test and see if you are living with a lukewarm faith. 1.    Do you ask God before making decisions in your life? Personal Power

Image
This is the most personal post I have written. It deals with something I have struggled the most with, relying on someone else's faith. I am very blessed to have an amazing and Godly upbringing. My childhood was filled with church, prayer, God and miracles. I was saved, believed in the power of God, prayed and read my bible regularly. I relied on the teachings of my parents and grandparents to guide me and help me make decisions. I highly depended on their faith as my own. As a child this isn’t a bad thing. We need constant guidance and teaching to mold us into the people God has called us to be. But, there comes a time when we have to branch away from our reliance on the faith of our mentors and become who we are in Christ. 2Timothy 3:14-17 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make...

STRESSED OUT

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life” ( Matt 6:25-27 ) Stress , we all know it, we have all felt it, and some of us have probably felt it today. You didn’t  dress your kid for “theme” day, you forgot you had a big meeting today, it’s your best friend’s birthday but you haven’t so much as bought a card yet and you can’t remember if you fed the dog today. Stress is very common in life and everyone experiences it, yet it leaves us feeling isolated and alone. The devil uses stress to keep our minds so occupied that we don’t have room for God. The devil wil...
