Be Salty

Matthew 5:13 reads “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. Which, got me to thinking, (scary I know). How can I be like salt? Besides being pale white, I just couldn’t see any similarities between salt and me. How can I be like the salt of the earth and not lose my flavor? I don’t even understand salt itself! When my husband and I were first married, he always asked me to add more salt to ANYTHING I cooked. I was notorious for cooking enough spaghetti to feed an army and for not adding enough salt. Having attended culinary school and worked in the restaurant biz, my husband knew the role salt played in foods and he taught me it’s value, which took our food from being just good to great (if I do say so myself). I can look at salt and its uses and directly relate it to being a Christian in the kitchen of life (which can get pretty hot...
